Since its founding in the 1940s, the Greater Bridgeport Symphony has enjoyed a reputation for hiring nationally and internationally renowned conductors/music directors to lead the ensemble.

And yesterday, the venerable orchestra remained true to its history, announcing that its fifth music director and principal conductor is Eric Jacobsen, of Brooklyn, N.Y.
